26th victim of convoy shooting in Kharkiv Oblast found: young man had walked 1.5 km and died in forest belt

On 17 October, law enforcement officers discovered the 26th victim of the shooting of a civilian convoy by Russian troops, which had occurred on 25 September near the village of Kurylivka in the Kupiansk district.

Quote: "On 17 October, with the help of witness testimonies, the prosecutors of the Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor's Office and investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine found the 26th victim of the convoy shooting along the possible evacuation route for the wounded: a 19-year-old young man.

Preliminary data indicates that after the shooting of the convoy, the man, having been wounded, walked about 1.5 km and died in the forest belt. The body of the deceased was sent for a forensic medical examination."

Details: The prosecutors also determined that two children, a 13-month-old boy and a 5-and-a-half-year-old girl, managed to escape during the shooting. Their parents were killed.

The children were saved by caring passers-by. The children are safe and have already been handed over to their relatives.

Investigative actions are being carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings under Art. 438.2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
