Japan to help with equipment for restoring damaged energy facilities

Herman Halushchenko, Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, discussed the matter of restoring Ukraine's energy infrastructure with Matsuda Kuninori, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of Ukraine's Ministry of Energy.

The parties discussed systematic attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure facilities that have been carried out by Russian troops and their consequences. Additionally, they talked about areas of cooperation to help supply Ukraine during the heating season.

"We dedicated special attention during the meeting to Japan’s readiness to help with restoring Ukraine’s critical infrastructure facilities that have been damaged or destroyed in combat actions, especially with supplying the necessary equipment and hardware," the report said.

The Ministry of Energy has also stated that the relevant energy projects will be implemented in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
