Russians launch 20 missiles on village in Sumy Oblast

During the day of 16 October, Russians fired missiles on three hromadas [administrative units designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories] in Sumy Oblast; a number of settlements lost power, and buildings belonging to local companies were destroyed.

Details: There were 5 attacks from Grad MLRS in the Velykopysarivka hromada, and a total of 54 mortar strikes. In addition, two drones fired 20 rockets on the outskirts of one of the villages. Premises belonging to a civilian agricultural company were damaged.

There were two mortar attacks on Bilopilsk hromada. As a result of one of these, a critical infrastructure facility was damaged. A number of settlements were cut off from electricity; as of 20:00 on 16 October, 1030 users were stated to have been disconnected from the electrical grid.

In Krasnopillia Hromada, Russians opened fire from machine guns.

In addition, emergency disconnections occurred again, as a result of Russian attacks in the Oblast. According to Zhyvytskyi, there is currently not enough power capacity for Shostka district. Power engineers are trying to stabilise the network, so citizens are required to limit their consumption of electricity from 08:00 to 11:00.
