Details: Russia’s Defence Ministry has reported that two citizens of a CIS country have committed an "act of terrorism" at a training ground of the Western Military District in Belgorod Oblast.

During a fire training session with the "volunteers", who were training for the so-called "special operation" [as Russian propaganda calls the war against Ukraine], the "terrorists" fired on the unit’s personnel using small arms.

11 people died in the attack and 15 people were taken to hospital with wounds of varying degrees of severity.

The two "terrorists" were killed by return fire, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported.

Earlier, Russian Telegram channels had reported that a shooting had occurred on the territory of a military unit in Belgorod Oblast, resulting in people being killed and wounded. According to SOTA, 22 people may have been killed and 16 wounded. It was reported that the shooters were apparently three servicemen, two of whom were killed on the spot, while one managed to escape.

A source among the mobilised men’s relatives told SOTA that the Belgorod Oblast shooting took place at a training ground in the village of Soloti.

Previously this training ground had over 100 conscripts from Bryansk Oblast, Russia, who categorically refused to be sent to Lyman in Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast. SOTA says that the military leadership spent a week trying to persuade them to start an assault on the city
