Ukraine is monitoring what is happening in Belarus and is ready for offensive – Joint Forces Commander

Serhii Naiev, the Commanding Officer of the Joint Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said that Ukraine has been constantly monitoring what is happening in Belarus, and, as of now, it is ready for a possible new offensive from this territory.

Details: He explained that the level of military threats is measured by the corresponding number of troops, their composition and their combat potential. At the same time, some things are measured by numbers, and some by combat efficiency level.

Quote by Naiev: "The accumulation of relevant forces and resources of Russia, together with the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus will create a threat of a repeated attack in the northern operational zone – in particular, on the city of Kyiv.

But the level of these military threats is constantly measured by our partners,who provide us with specific information in a timely manner; and we, as professional soldiers, react to the increase in the level of this military threat the same way: we take steps to ensure that our troops are in the appropriate number with the necessary weapons, military equipment and, more necessarily, high combat potential.

We are currently ready for an attack from the Republic of Belarus."

Details: Naiev noted that the Ukrainian military understands that those troops that are accumulating on the territory of Belarus will increase their degree of readiness and aggressiveness towards Ukraine. The military command will also build up Ukrainian forces and resources accordingly.

He explained that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian forces quickly advanced in Kyiv and Chernihiv Oblasts, because these areas were covered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine as if it was peacetime; this is why the Armed Forces of Ukraine fought against the overwhelming forces of the Russian army.

But after due mobilisation, the number of the Armed Forces allowed Ukraine to halt the offensive. And after that, the defenders expelled the occupiers from Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy Oblasts.

He once again emphasised that as of 13 October, the situation in Ukraine’s north" is fully under control, and the Armed Forces  of Ukraine are "fully ready" for a possible new offensive.
