Zelenskyy at PACE: Russia should see zero on oil and gas bills
EUROPEAN PRAVDA – THURSDAY, 13 OCTOBER 2022, 11:30
During his speech before members of the PACE, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine called for such sanctions against the Russian Federation, which will result in loss of any profits for gas and oil sold by Russia.

Quote: "We must continue our dialogue to further reduce Russia's ability to finance the war. In particular, it is vital to deprive the aggressor state of profits from oil and gas exports. Russia must see a zero on [its] accounts to think about the benefits of peace. This is what the EU sanctions packages should be about," said Zelenskyy.
He also called for continuing the dialogue to find a way to force the Russian Federation to comply with the IAEA demand to ensure the demilitarisation of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
In addition, the president called to bring the Russian Federation as an aggressor state – and each of the Russian murderers – to justice for all the crimes committed during this war.
He noted that Europe could become a leader in creating a tribunal for Russia's crimes and in setting compensation mechanisms for the damage caused by Russia.
It is worth noting that on 12 October, energy ministers of the EU member states did not reach an agreement on limiting the price of gas at an informal meeting dedicated to solving the problem of high fuel prices.
With current gas prices nearly 90 percent higher than a year ago, most EU countries are keen to set a fuel price cap, but have struggled to agree on what form it should take.
