OLENA BARSUKOVA,
In the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a 6-year-old girl received a traumatic amputation of both legs in the wake of the shelling of Nikopol by Russian occupying forces.
The girl was injured during artillery shelling by Russian troops on the night of October 11-12.
This was announced by an anesthesiologist, Serhii, during the briefing, Suspilne reports.
The girl's 33-year-old mother was also injured as a result of the shelling.
They are both in the hospital, reports Valentyn Reznichenko, the Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast State Administration.
"The enemy shelled the area seven times with a Grad MLRS and heavy artillery. They fired more than 100 shells at peaceful Nikopol!
One of the shells flew directly into a private house. It injured a 6-year-old girl and her mother. They and another woman injured in the attack are now in the hospital. [In] severe [condition]," Reznichenko wrote.
Currently, the 6-year-old girl’s condition is stable.
However, in the future, she will need surgery, rehabilitation and prosthetics, the doctor added.
A mother and daughter who received amputations as a result of a missile attack on the railway station in Kramatorsk are already receiving prosthetics in the USA.
A unique prosthesis was also fitted on 9-year-old Sasha from Hostomel, who lost her arm due to Russian shelling during the evacuation.
