Belarus sends first shipment of T-72 tanks to Belgorod Oblast, Russia – General Staff report

Belarus has released 20 T-72 tanks from storage and sent them to Belgorod Oblast, Russia [on the northeastern border with Ukraine - ed.].

Details: Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed President of the Republic of Belarus, has said that his country was prepared to support Russia in its war against Ukraine. Belarus’s defence industry is already involved in repairing Russian military equipment that has been damaged in the course of hostilities.
Over the course of the past 24 hours, Russian forces launched one ballistic and 28 cruise missiles on Ukraine; 20 of them have been shot down by Ukraine’s air defence.
The Russians carried out 13 airstrikes, as well as around 40 attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems [MLRS]. Residents and facilities in more than 40 cities, towns and villages sustained injuries and damage, including Lviv, Popivka, Chuhunivka, Ladyzhyn, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Pavlohrad and Nikopol. The Russians also deployed 14 Iranian-made kamikaze drones to attack critical infrastructure in Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts, 12 of which have been destroyed. There is an ongoing threat of similar attacks.
There were no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts. On other fronts, the Russians continued to fire on military and civilian targets:
- On the Sivernshchyna front: Senkivka in Chernihiv Oblast and Seredyna-Buda, Novovasylivka and Sorokyne in Sumy Oblast;
- On the Slobozhanshchyna front: Strilecha, Krasne, Ohirtseve, Vovchanski Khutory, Starytsia, Dvorichna and Dvorichne;
- On the Kramatorsk front: Pershotravneve, Kovalivka, Terny, Yampolivka, Torske, Serebrianka, Bilohorivka and Siversk;
- On the Bakhmut front: Bilohorivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Odradivka, Opytne, Maiorsk, Spirne and Yakovlivka;
- On the Avdiivka front: Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Marinka and Novomykhailivka;
- On the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts: Velyka Novosilka, Neskuchne, Mali Shcherbaky, Orikhiv and Chervone;
- On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russian forces continued to fire on the positions of Ukrainian units along the entire line of contact in order to stop their advance. More than 20 towns and villages came under Russian fire, including Velyke Artakove, Davydiv Brid, Blahodativka, Sukhyi Stavok, Shyroke, Ternovi Pody, Soldatske, Pravdyne and Myrne.
Units of the Ukrainian defence forces [collective name for all Ukrainian military formations involved in the ongoing combat in this country - ed.] repelled Russian attacks in the vicinity of Mykolaivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Maiorsk, Pervomaiske and Krasnohorivka.
There is a shortage of medical workers on the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Oblast, that results from the successful operations undertaken by Ukrainian forces and the consequently large number of wounded Russian soldiers. The self-proclaimed occupation government has sent a request for medical personnel from the central and eastern regions of the Russian Federation in order to expand the staff at local hospitals.
Ukrainian aircraft carried out 15 airstrikes on 11 October, striking 13 areas of concentration of Russian weapons and equipment and 2 anti-aircraft defence systems. Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck 12 Russian command posts, 17 areas where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated, 4 ammunition storage points and over 20 other critical enemy targets.
The General Staff reported that Russian occupiers in Kherson Oblast are continuing to raid and seize agricultural businesses; after inventorying their assets, they re-register them under their own ownership according to Russian law.
