Russian attacks: 1 person killed and 4 injured in Sumy Oblast

One person was killed and another four injured as a result of Russian attacks on Sumy Oblast [on 10 October]. Three people sustained injuries during emergency works.

Details: In addition to the two missiles Russia launched [as part of the mass missile strike on Ukraine - ed.], the area of Sumy Oblast near the Ukrainian-Russian border sustained over 50 additional attacks on 10 October.

Russian forces fired six mortar-launched bombs on the Krasnopillia hromada (an administrative unit designating the town of Krasnopillia and its adjacent territories) but did not cause any damage.

Around 10:00, an infrastructure target was destroyed in the Konotop district during the Russian terrorist missile strike. An emergency operation is underway. Two members of staff of the infrastructure facility and one State Emergency Service worker sustained injuries.

Around 13:00, the Russians opened fire on the Shostka district using a large-calibre machine gun positioned within Russian territory.

Around 15:00, five shells launched from a self-propelled artillery system hit a village in the Krasnopillia hromada.

The Bilopillia hromada came under Russian fire three times; the Russians used self-propelled artillery systems and mortars.

One person was killed and another four were injured; they have been hospitalised. An apartment block and several private houses, as well as a school and a local business, were damaged.

The Russians also used self-propelled artillery systems, mortars and an automatic easel grenade launcher to fire on the Velyka Pysarivka and the Yunakivka hromadas. There were no casualties.
