Sumy Oblast: Russian forces fire on 5 hromadas, damaging municipal and private property

On Friday, 9 September, Russian forces fired on five different hromadas [an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories] in Sumy Oblast. In the Velyka Pysarivka hromada, the Russian attacks damaged a hospital, a specialised high school and a kindergarten.

Details: Velyka Pysarivka hromada: At 09:00, two missiles were launched from aircraft from Russian airspace. The Central District Hospital was damaged, as well as a local specialised secondary school (15 windows shattered) and a kindergarten (22 windows shattered). Windows were partially shattered in two two-storey residential houses; a balcony was also damaged in one of the houses.

Krasnopillia hromada: Russian forces carried out a missile strike on the hromada from the territory of the Russian Federation soon after 09:00. At 18:00, the Russians fired 17 mortar bombs on the hromada.

Yunakivka hromada: At 16:25, the Russians started to fire mortar bombs on the hromada; a total of 12 bombs were fired.

Nova Sloboda hromada: Around 17:00, Russian forces opened fire on the hromada using tubed artillery, firing a total of 30 projectiles and damaging a power line. After 20:00, they fired another 30 projectiles, again using artillery. The effects of the attack have yet to be confirmed.

Bilopillia hromada: Russian forces used tubed artillery to fire a total of 6 projectiles on the hromada just after 17:00.

Previously: Earlier on 9 September, Zhyvytskyi reported that Russian forces had carried out an airstrike on a hospital in the Velyka Pysarivka hromada. The latest reports indicate that eight civilians sustained injuries in the attack.
