Ukraine's counter-offensive in Kharkiv Oblast: Armed Forces advance by 50 km in just 3 days – General Staff report

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are mounting a successful counter-offensive on the Kharkiv front, having advanced by almost 50 kilometres in three days.

Details: Over the course of the past 24 hours, Russian forces conducted over 45 airstrikes and 5 missile strikes on Kostiantynivka, Tsyrkuny, Radushne and Kharkiv. There are civilian casualties.

On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, military exercises have begun on the territory of Belarus; in particular, the exercises are supposed to cover "liberation of occupied territories". There is an ongoing threat of missile strikes and airstrikes on Ukraine from the territory of Belarus.

The intensity of Russian attacks on the Sivershchyna front has significantly reduced. The situation on other fronts was as follows:

  • On the Kharkiv front, the Russians fired on areas in and around Udy, Sosnivka, Duvanka, Tsupivka, Prudianka, Dementiivka, Velyki Prokhody, Pytomnyk, Ruski Tyshky, Petrivka, Peremoha, Bairak and Kostiantynivka, using tubed and rocket artillery; 
  • On the Sloviansk front, Russian occupying forces fired on Dolyna, Krasnopillia, Sloviansk and Mykilske;
  • On the Kramatorsk front, the Russians fired on areas in and around Bohorodychne, Novomykolaivka, Serebrianka, Siversk, Verkhnokamianske, Ivano-Darivka, Spirne, Rozdolivka and Hryhorivka;
  • On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces fired on areas in and around Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Vesela Dolyna, Zaitseve, New-York and Vesele;
  • On the Avdiivka front, Russian troops fired on Kamianka, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Vodiane and Opytne;
  • On the Novopavlivka front, Russian forces fired on areas in and around Marinka, Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Velyka Novosilka, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka and Mykilske;
  • On the Zaporizhzhia front, Russian occupying forces fired on areas in and around Novopil, Vremivka, Poltavka, Zaliznychne, Chervone, Novoandriivka and Orikhiv;
  • On the Pivdennyi Buh front, the Russians fired on areas in and around Arkhanhelske, Novovoznesenske, Myroliubivka, Novovoskresenske, Bilohirka, Novohryhorivka, Shevchenkove, Liubomyrivka, Ternovi Pody, Stepova Dolyna, Myrne, Olhyne, Oleksandrivka and Tavriiske.

Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are maintaining their current positions and preventing Russian forces from advancing. They have successfully repelled Russian attempts to advance in the vicinity of Udy, Kostiantynivka, Virnopillia, Ploske, Maiorsk, Bezimenne and Kamianka.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces are also mounting a successful counter-offensive on the Kharkiv front. Skillful and coordinated actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, aided by local residents, have resulted in an advance of almost 50 kilometres in the course of the past three days alone.

Rocket and artillery units of the Ukrainian ground forces are continuing to carry out counter-battery firing missions, to disrupt Russian command and control systems and supply logistics, and to inflict losses on Russian military personnel and equipment.

Over the course of the past 24 hours, Ukrainian aircraft carried out over 20 airstrikes, hitting two Russian platoon strong points, 15 areas where Russian military personnel and equipment were concentrated, and three anti-aircraft missile systems. Four Russian UAVs and one Ka-52 helicopter were destroyed. Losses among Russia’s military personnel have yet to be ascertained.
