Details: According to the investigation, one of the traitors is a local resident who, when the full-scale invasion began, voluntarily went to the "enlistment office" in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Oblast.

He was appointed as a machine gunner in the so-called "6th Cossack Regiment of the People's Militia" of the "LPR".

In May 2022, he was captured near the village of Katerynivka, Popasna district.

During the investigation, the suspect tried to pose as a forcibly mobilised Russian citizen, but SSU staff collected indisputable evidence of his guilt under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The other traitor turned out to be a resident of Luhansk Oblast with previous convictions for drug-related offences. In 2021, he joined the ranks of the so-called "people's militia'' of the "LPR".

When the full-scale aggression began, he was appointed as a machine gunner in the "2nd Army Corps" of the occupying troops of the Russian Federation. There, he fought against Ukrainian troops in the districts of Kreminna, Rubizhne, Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk.

He then participated in the looting of captured businesses and local residents’ homes.

While on the outskirts of Sievierodonetsk, the suspect was wounded during the shelling of high-rise buildings by Russian tanks, and he was deployed in the rear for some time.

He later returned to the front again. However, in August, the traitor was captured along with seven other members of the invaders’ group during fighting on the Bakhmut front.

The court found him guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
