Quote: "The implementation of the grain export initiative, which is an important tool for our economy and for all partners of our country, continues. Ukrainian food has so far been exported to three continents: Africa, Asia and Europe. To give you more details, 54 vessels have already been sent to Asia, 16 to Africa, and 32 to Europe, some of which then went on to sail for Asian and African countries.
Today Russia made another blatantly false statement, claiming that a large majority of Ukrainian grain has allegedly been exported to European countries. Well, we have not heard [any] truthful statements at the official level in Russia in a long time, so this does not surprise anyone."
"Unlike Russia, we do not make a racist division of the world into those who deserve security and those who supposedly do not; into those who deserve to live without famine and those who supposedly do not.
We support all people, all countries. Both those who help us and those who still refrain from helping us. Both those that are more stable and those that are less stable. I emphasise once again: Ukraine was, is, and will be the guarantor of global food security."
Details: Zelenskyy noted that by the end of September, at least three million tonnes of agricultural products will have been exported from Ukraine’s seaports.
A significant share of the total exports is destined for the world’s poorest countries and those that are most in need.
"Perhaps Russia is not OK with this and does not want to admit it. However, this is exactly what the world needs. It is necessary to save countries on different continents from chaos, it is necessary to save people from starvation," Zelenskyy added.
