Quote from Orlov: "Enerhodar is once again under Russian fire! The intervals between attacks are becoming shorter and shorter. It is the second time in a day that the electricity supply has gone off throughout the city."
Details: According to Orlov, it is impossible to predict when repair crews will restore electricity.
He added that the emergency and repair teams do not have enough time between Russian attacks to address the damage after the attacks.
The mayor also recommended that residents of Enerhodar observe the rule of two walls during attacks, seeking shelter where there are at least two walls separating a person and the street. In addition, he advises residents to stock up on water, and when Russian troops stop firing, to stock up on non-perishable food.
Background:
- Since the beginning of August, Enerhodar, where the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is located, has been under fire. It was reported that the occupying forces are not letting people leave the city.
- The Ukrainian authorities urged residents of settlements located near the Zaporizhzhia NPP to evacuate on their own, because Russia does not agree to provide humanitarian corridors.
