Zelenskyy opened trading on the New York Stock Exchange: what it means

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy opened stock trading on the New York Stock Exchange virtually, and presented the Advantage Ukraine portal with opportunities to invest in the Ukrainian economy.

This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

The platform was presented by Zelenskyy, who took part in the event online, as well as Yulia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine. The round table at which the presentation took place brought together the heads of such global companies as Pfizer Inc, S&P Global Inc, American International Group, Bank of New York Mellon, Wells Fargo & Company and others.

The Advantage Ukraine initiative is aimed at attracting investments to the country. The platform collects investment projects and opportunities in 10 industries, such as: military-industrial complex, metallurgy, energy, agro complex, wood and furniture industry, innovative technologies, logistics infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, natural resources, industrial production.

Ukraine offers a menu of potential opportunities in the amount of more than 400 billion dollars to everyone who is interested. The portal covers public-private partnerships, privatisation and private enterprises. It is noted that the Ukrainian delegation presented an investment plan in Lugano, and currently the list of real projects is increasing and becoming more diverse.

After registering on the platform, each potential investor will receive information about investment opportunities and the benefits they will have from the implementation of the project.

"The Advantage Ukraine program invites foreign investors and companies who have the vision and courage to join us - we will offer them incredible opportunities for growth," Zelenskyy said.

Lynn Martin, President of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), noted that it is "a great honour for the group that the president chose NYSE to announce the start of Advantage Ukraine."

In order to create a safe and transparent environment for attracting business, Ukraine seeks to obtain investment guarantees from G7 countries and the EU, and also wants to reform the tax system and is forming a legislative framework.
