Donetsk Oblast: Russian rocket strike destroys school in Kurakhove

On the evening of 5 September, Russian forces carried out a rocket strike on Kurakhove, destroying a local school. Overall, four civilian residents of Donetsk Oblast sustained injuries as a result of Russian attacks on 5 September.

Quote from Kyrylenko: "The Russians have destroyed another school in Donetsk Oblast. This time, it was the Kurakhove School No. 2. Late last night [on 5 September - ed.], the Russian carried out a rocket strike on the school, destroying one wing of the four-storey building and damaging the neighbouring multi-storey apartment blocks. Fortunately, there were no casualties."
[Note that the word ракета Kyrylenko used can mean either missile or a rocket; it is not clear which one the Russians used in their attacks on the Kurakhove school - ed.]
Details: Kyrylenko added that this is the 274th school in Donetsk Oblast to be attacked by the Russian army since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion and the 29th to be completely destroyed.
A total of 615 educational establishments have sustained damage from Russian attacks over the course of the past six months.
Kyrylenko also reported that on 5 September, Russian forces injured four civilian residents of Donetsk Oblast: in Khromove, Heorhiivka, Bakhmut and Kostiantynivka.
