Ukraine’s Minister of Defence discusses preparations for 5th Ramstein-format meeting with US Ambassador

On Monday, 5 September, Oleksii Reznikov, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, met with Bridget Brink, the United States Ambassador to Ukraine. The officials met ahead of the fifth session of the Ukrainian Defence Contact Group in the Ramstein format.

Details: The meeting was also attended by Oleksandr Polishchuk, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine; Yevhen Moisuk, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; and Brigadier General Garrick M. Harmon, the US Defence Attaché to Ukraine.
Representatives of Ukraine and the US exchanged views ahead of the upcoming Ramstein-format meeting of the Ukrainian Defence Contact Group set to take place in Germany on 8 September. Reznikov also thanked the US for fruitful cooperation and its support for Ukraine and its Armed Forces.
At the previous four meetings of the Ukrainian Defence Contact Group, Ukraine and its partners discussed the extension of military aid for Ukraine.
Previously: US Secretary of Defence Lloyd J. Austin III is scheduled to host an in-person Ukraine Defence Contact Group meeting at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, on 8 September 2022.
This is the second time the meeting is set to take place at the Ramstein Air Base.
