Quote: "We delivered the Bayraktar from the Lithuanian campaign to Ukraine, and have now delivered the three Bayraktar unmanned combat aerial vehicles from the Prytula campaign. They are already in Ukraine."

Details: The Turkish entrepreneur emphasised that because Ukraine is now suffering from groundless and unjust aggression, many people in Ukraine mobilised and supported the campaign to raise funds to purchase Turkish combat drones. He said the Turkish company wanted to join in with the campaign, so they had decided not to take any payment for the drones.

Background:

  • Between 22 and 24 June, the Serhii Prytula Foundation, together with blogger Ihor Lachenkov, collected 600 million hryvnias [approximately US$16 million - ed.] from Ukrainians to purchase three Bayraktar UAVs for the Ukrainian army. But Baykar Makina, the company which manufactures the drones, said that it would give the UAVs to Ukraine for free.
  • The Serhii Prytula Foundation used the money to buy a satellite and access to a database of satellite images for Ukrainian intelligence.
