Bridges in Kherson region unfit for use, three crossings under occupiers' control destroyed – Defence Forces of South of Ukraine

All strategic bridges in Kherson Oblast are unsuitable for heavy military equipment movement. The Defence Forces of the South of Ukraine have also destroyed three crossings held by the occupiers.

Details: Humeniuk was asked to explain the words "hold under fire control". She remarked that military terminology has become an integral part of Ukrainians’ everyday vocabulary after half a year of martial law.

Quote: "We hold [the bridges] under fire control because we are not destroyers; we are not destroying our infrastructure, but we don’t give Russians a chance to use it to their advantage, either. 

So the damage caused to the structures is impressive enough for them to become unsuitable for use. Yet the occupiers continue to do this [continue to use the bridges], even risking their lives. They are still trying to transport heavy military equipment and ammunition, even though it is dangerous. This is why some sections [of the bridges] were ruined; they were overloaded.

At the moment all these routes are totally unfit for use. This is why they [Russians] are facilitating alternative routes (ferry, pontoon and barge crossings). They are within our fire range as well. Three pontoon crossings have been destroyed".
