Occupiers start handing out military draft subpoenas in Melitopol – Centre for Countering Disinformation

Russian occupiers started handing out mobilisation subpoenas in temporarily occupied Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia Oblast), summoning the locals to go to war.

Background: In April, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russians announced military draft in the occupied territory of Kherson Oblast.
Likewise, from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the occupiers have been conducting mobilisation in the territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts that were occupied earlier.
Serhii Haidai, the Head of Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, reported that few men of military age remained in Luhansk Oblast so even students and senior people were being sent to the war. The occupiers are calling teachers from their vacations to hand them subpoenas and demand that enterprises provide lists of their male staff.
The Ministry of Re-Integration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine advises that the men who are likely to be mobilised in the temporarily occupied territories avoid receiving the subpoena at all costs; if illegally mobilised by occupiers, they should surrender to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
