National Security and Defence Council predicts escalation on the front: Ukraine’s Armed Forces are ready
IRYNA BALACHUK – FRIDAY, 30 SEPTEMBER 2022, 21:51
Russia may resort to escalation on the front in the near future, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready for any course of actions.
Source: Oleksii Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, on the national 24/7 news broadcast on 30 September
Quote: "Of course, the Russian Federation will now try to cause maximum damage to us in any way possible. It will make attempts to intensify [combat], but we believe in our Armed Forces. We understand what is going on at the front currently. Our troops are ready for any course of events.
We think that such an attempt by Russia at escalation may be made in the near future, considering that they are now conducting conscription. But we are ready. We are making predictions."
Details: The Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine added that Ukraine also understands what will be going on in Russia itself when Russian families start losing husbands and sons in this war.
In Danilov’s opinion, angry Russian women could unleash certain processes inside Russia.
Background:
- On 30 September, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, signed the "agreement on the accession to Russia" of the occupied Ukrainian territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts and declared that henceforth, residents of these territories are citizens of the Russian Federation.
- On 29 September, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that after holding sham referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine and following on Russia’s partial mobilisation, the Russian authorities might resort to escalation at the front.
- Earlier, Oleksii Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, expressed his persuasion that certain processes had already begun in Russia that would eventually lead to the collapse of the aggressor country.
