Only Ukraine will decide when it is time to end the war, as it is gradually liberating its territories temporarily occupied by Russia.

Details: Podoliak added that the amount in reparations that Russia will pay in the future is also to be determined solely by Ukraine.
Background:
- Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, met with school children on 1 September. He assured them that Ukraine did not exist before the Soviet Union, and that, allegedly, the aim of the war against Ukraine is to stop the war that has been waging in Donbas since 2014, and to protect Russia.
- The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Putin ordered Russian forces to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk Oblast by 15 September.
- Earlier, Sergey Shoigu, Russia’s Minister of Defence, claimed that the so-called "Russian special operation" was being conducted as planned.
