The Armed Forces of Ukraine have captured three Russian soldiers in southern Ukraine.

Details: The Ukrainian Armed Forces have also captured two T-62 tanks, an amphibious assault vehicle, a BTR-82 armoured personnel carrier, and numerous crewed weapons systems as well as small arms, with ammunition.

Over the course of 2 September, Russian aircraft carried out eight airstrikes on the positions of Ukrainian forces. In return, Ukrainian aircraft conducted 22 airstrikes; Ukrainian rocket artillery units additionally carried out over 400 artillery firing missions.

Moreover, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck an observation and command post of the 205th Cossack Motor Rifle Brigade in Snihurivka (Mykolaiv Oblast) and a Russian pontoon crossing near Kozatske (Kherson Oblast).

They also struck two ammunition supply points and three ammunition storage areas in the Kherson and Beryslav districts (Kherson Oblast).

The Ukrainian Armed Forces killed 106 Russian soldiers and destroyed around 60 pieces of Russian military equipment, including: 

  • 14 T-72 and T-62 tanks;
  • 1 Msta-B howitzer;
  • 1 self-propelled artillery and mortar system;
  • 2 Uragan (Hurricane) multiple-launch rocket systems;
  • 3 152-calibre howitzer cannons;
  • 1 mobile 120-calibre mortar;
  • 2 unmanned aerial reconnaissance vehicles;
  • 35 vehicles and armoured vehicles.

The Operational Command Pivden (South) reports that battles to achieve superior position are currently underway on Ukraine’s southern fronts.
