The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine expects that after holding pseudo-referendums in the occupied territory of Ukraine and mobilisation, the Russian authorities may resort to escalation at the front.

Source: Ukrinform with reference to the briefing of Oleksii Hromov, Deputy Head of the General Staff's Main Operative Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Quote from Hromov: "Mobilisation measures in the aggressor country continue. After the pseudo-referendums and the building up of the enemy groups of their forces, we do not rule out the escalation of the situation."

Details: Hromov explained that this escalation will be characterised, first of all, by striking critical infrastructure with simultaneous attempts to intensify combat operations with the aim of seizing the territories of the entire Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Oblasts of Ukraine.
