Russian-appointed puppet governors in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts have announced the results of sham referendums held in those territories.

Details: The so-called "Central Electoral Commission" in the Russian-occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast declared that after 100% of votes had been counted, 93.11% "of voters had voted to join the Russian Federation".

Russian occupiers in the occupied territories of Kherson Oblast declared that 87.05% of local residents voted in favour of joining Russia.

Background: Russia has occupied parts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts in southern Ukraine. The sham referendums that Russia has held in those occupied territories are illegitimate.

Not a single country in the world has said that it would recognise the results of the sham referendums, except Russia itself.

The Security Service of Ukraine said earlier that the Russian occupiers falsified the results of the sham referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine as early as the beginning of September.
