Details: According to the investigation, the 49-year-old civil servant, a native of the Russian Federation who worked at one of Kyiv's Administrative Services Centres, created and administered a social media account under the pseudonym "Alyona Donskaya" where she published material justifying the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine and calling for Ukraine’s borders to be changed by force.

Among other things, the woman posted propaganda, posts calling for the occupation of Ukraine, and communist symbols on social media.

Law enforcement officers recorded 25 items on the campaigner’s webpage that after a comprehensive forensic psychological and linguistic examination were deemed to pose a threat to the state security of Ukraine.

In the course of authorised searches of the suspect's residence, law enforcement officers seized mobile phones and computer equipment, as well as communist insignia, St George's ribbons, and a large amount of personal savings in Russian roubles.

According to the police, almost 180,000 roubles (approximately US$3,053), US$3,330 and 865 euros were seized.

The court remanded her in custody without bail. The woman has also been dismissed from her post.

She faces up to ten years in prison.
