Russians deploy mobile conscription office on border with Georgia

Russian soldiers are going to deploy a conscription post on a section of the Russian-Georgian border in North Ossetia [a republic in the Russian Federation] in the near future. Conscription notices are going to be handed over directly at Upper Lars checkpoint.

Details: At the same time, pedestrian crossing through this checkpoint has been opened. 

Background: 

• On 26 September, the FSB sent an armoured vehicle to the border with Georgia and would ensure that the reservists did not leave the country allegedly "without completing border formalities."
• As reported earlier, the Kremlin was discussing the possibility of introducing martial law and banning men from leaving the country.
• Men of mobilisation age will be banned from leaving Russia after sham referendums in Ukraine, Russian media reported, citing sources in the government.
