Sumy Oblast: Russians fire rockets and pound Oblast from self-propelled guns

Russians shelled four hromadas (an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories) of Sumy Oblast on 26 September. They fired rockets and pounded the Oblast using self-propelled artillery and mortars.

Details: The outskirts of the villages in Shalyhyne hromada came under rocket attack. Six rockets were fired from a helicopter located in the Russian Federation. Power lines have been damaged. Later, the Russians also performed two mortar attacks and opened artillery fire. Preliminary reports indicate that they used tubed artillery resulting in about 11 explosions. There were also six grenade launcher explosions and about 20 bursts of machine gun fire.
Krasnopillia hromada: In the early morning, the Russians shelled the hromada using self-propelled artillery and delivered 12 strikes. In the evening there was another artillery barrage from self-propelled artillery resulting in 10 strikes.
Bilopillia hromada sustained a mortar strike from the territory of the Russian Federation.
Seredyna-Buda hromada sustained six Russian mortar strikes.
A total of 42 Russian strikes have been recorded in the areas close to Ukraine’s state border.
