Military enlistment offices set on fire in another 3 Russian regions

Military enlistment offices in Kaliningrad and Leningrad oblasts of the Russian Federation, and in the Republic of Mordovia (a federal subject of Russia) were set on fire on Sunday, 25 September.

Details: A fuel canister attached to window bars was used to set a military enlistment office in Kirovsk (Leningrad Oblast) on fire.

A local news outlet, 47news, reported that an unidentified person drilled a hole in the window of one of the rooms in a military enlistment office in Kirovsk around 04:30 on Sunday morning. He used a canister attached to the office’s window bars to gradually pump fuel into the room. Approximately 10 square metres of the office caught on fire, which was extinguished by the night guard. The person who set the office on fire has not been detained.

Amber Mash reported that a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a military enlistment office in Chernyakhovsk (Kaliningrad Oblast). The building’s wall caught on fire, with the fire spreading over the area of about 1.5 square metres. It was extinguished by the guards on duty. Kaliningrad No.1 reported that only the plaque on the building caught fire and the building itself was not affected. Both outlets said that police are currently inspecting the site of the incident. Amber Mash said that the person who threw the Molotov cocktail has been detained.

A military enlistment office in the city of Ruzaivka (Mordovia) caught on fire on the night of 24–25 September after two Molotov cocktails were thrown through its windows. This has been reported by 7x7, a local Telegram channel, which cited the enlistment office itself.

In addition, Molotov cocktails were also thrown at an administrative building near Gatchyna (Leningrad Oblast), causing a fire which spread over 50 square metres. There were no casualties.

Previously: As of Friday, 23 September, at least five military enlistment offices have been set on fire since the beginning of partial mobilisation in Russia, and cases of fires in administrative buildings have also become more frequent.
