On other fronts, the Russians continued to fire on military and civilian targets using tank guns, mortars and artillery:

  • On the Sivershchyna front: areas in and around Huta-Studenetska (Chernihiv Oblast) and Bachivsk (Sumy Oblast);
  • On the Slobozhanshchyna front: areas in and around Strilecha, Huriv Kozachok, Dvorichne, Kupiansk and Kucherivka;
  • On the Kramatorsk front: Sloviansk, Korovii Yar, Bohorodychne, Yarova and Ozerne;
  • On the Bakhmut front: Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Opytne, Yakovlivka, Nelipovka, Yuriivka, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka;
  • On the Avdiivka front: Avdiivka, Vodiane, Marinka and Paraskoviivka;
  • On the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts, Russian forces used tank guns, mortars and tubed artillery to fire on over 20 cities, towns and villages, including Mykilske, Vuhledar, Kurdiumivka, Prechystivka, Shevchenko, Bilohiris, Temyrivka, Vremivka and Olhivske;
  • On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russian forces fired on over 25 towns and villages along the line of contact. Russian forces made over 30 UAV sorties in order to conduct reconnaissance, adjust artillery fire and strike civilian infrastructure targets.

In light of the partial mobilisation announced by the Russian military-political leadership, Russian commanders on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine are attempting to limit the rights of the military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on short-term contracts. For example, commanders of Russian units on the Zaporizhzhia front have declared that the term of the contract is irrelevant and it is instead the responsibility of the commanders to decide the duration of any soldier’s deployment in the combat zone. Delays in wages and approving leave are also being blamed on the recently announced partial mobilisation and the morale among Russian units is deteriorating.

Over the course of 24 September, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled Russian attacks in the vicinity of Soledar, Vyimka, Kurdiumivka, Zaitseve, Novomykhailivka and Pervomaiske.

Ukrainian aircraft carried out 26 airstrikes, striking 20 areas where Russian military personnel and equipment were concentrated, along with six anti-aircraft defence systems.

Ukraine’s missile and artillery units struck five Russian command posts; 13 areas where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated; three anti-aircraft systems; three missile and artillery systems; and two ammunition storage points. Russia’s losses have yet to be confirmed.
