President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine believes that Russian military and political leaders "need their brains set straight" so that the war would end before Russia ran out of mobilised troops.

Quote: "I don’t want to think that the war will end only when [Putin] runs out of people to send to war. I think that the war has to end sooner than that, but [in order for that to happen] someone has to set straight the brains of the military-political leadership of the Russian Federation."

Details: President Zelenskyy said that mobilisation has been taking place in Russia since 24 February, but it remained covert until Putin’s announcement on 21 September.

Quote: "People were deployed here only for them to die…When they ran out of professional officers, they started to conscript various retired [military personnel]; when they ran out of the retirees, they started to conscript young cadets, children who were brought here to die for the sake of the ambitions of one person who wants to wage [this] war."

Details: Zelenskyy added that the war will not be over for Ukraine until it retakes all of its territories that are currently occupied by Russia "We don’t need what’s not ours", he said.
