Belarus says they don’t need mobilisation as they are already mobilised

Alexander Volfovich, State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus, who is in Moscow at the moment, said that the current government of Belarus would not be announcing mobilisation.

Details: Volfovich is reportedly in Moscow on the day Russian President Vladimir Putin announced partial mobilisation [21 September]. He is due to meet with Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia.
Background:
- Vladimir Putin announced the partial mobilisation of Russian citizens in his address to Russians on the morning of 21 September. Putin said that only those who are in the military reserve will be mobilised. They will receive additional training in view of the war in Ukraine. The President’s decree states that mobilisation is set to begin on 21 September.
- On 20 September, Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, declared that no attack would be launched on Russian troops through Belarus, and called upon the Russian government to cover the borders with Ukraine and for troops to be put on alert if needed.
