Security to be stepped up at Russia’s military enlistment offices in view of "provocations"

Sergei Shoigu, the Russian Minister of Defence, has said that stepping up security at military enlistment offices and "citizens’ assembly points" in order to "prevent provocations" were among the priority tasks of the mobilisation.

Quote: "It is necessary to strengthen measures against provocations and illegal actions, and increase protection for [mobilisation] notification sites and points for the reception and assembly of citizens."
Details: Shoigu added that those mobilised will have the status of contract soldiers, and employees of enterprises in the defence industry will be able to defer military service.

- In an address to Russians on the morning of 21 September, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the partial mobilization of the country's citizens.
- In anticipation of a speech by dictator Vladimir Putin, which did not take place as expected on 20 September, Russian people started to actively search up how to leave the country and how to defer army service.
