Ukraine’s Defence Minister mocks mobilisation in Russia: Kremlin has taken up challenge from Moskvich car factory

Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defence of Ukraine, has mocked the partial mobilisation in Russia, quipping that the Kremlin's plans to recruit 300,000 reservists for the war are linked to the Moskvich car factory’s annual plans to produce the same number of cars.

Details: The minister recalled that on 22 June, the Moskvich car factory announced plans to produce 300,000 cars a year.

And on 21 September, the Kremlin said that 300,000 reservists would be mobilised in the "partial mobilisation" announced by Vladimir Putin.

Reznikov interpreted this as a "challenge accepted" statement from the Russian President’s administration.
