Explosions heard in Kherson for third time on 2 September

In Russian-occupied Kherson, residents have reported hearing the sound of explosions for the third time since the beginning of today.

Details: As of 16:34, it became known that explosions were again heard in Russian-occupied Kherson.

Before that, an air alert was sounded in the region.

On the morning of 2 September, Russian-aligned news outlets and local Telegram channels reported at least 6 explosions in Kherson. Around noon, residents also heard the sounds of explosions.

Background:

  • City residents reported the explosions on 31 August. On the night of 31 August/1 September, the Ukrainian Armed Forces prevented the Russian army from building a new pontoon crossing near Darivka, Kherson Oblast, and struck the Kakhovka Bridge again.
  • On 30-31 August, the Ukrainian military also established control over the Kakhovkha and Antonivka road bridges.
