Ukrainian Armed Forces hit Russian targets in Kharkiv and Kherson oblasts – General Staff report

On the night of 31 August–1 September, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck and destroyed a Russian oil and lubricants storage point in the village of Novoosynivka in Kharkiv Oblast.

Details: In addition, Russian forces lost over 20 weapons and pieces of military equipment as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on their point of deployment in Tavriisk, Kharkiv Oblast on 30 August. The Russian forces’ personnel losses have yet to be confirmed.

There were no changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts. Units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are continuing to ensure the security of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in Brest and Gomel oblasts (Belarus). There is an ongoing threat of missile and airstrikes from the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

Russia continues to maintain certain units of its Armed Forces on the Sivershchyna front, in parts of Bryansk and Kursk oblasts (Russia) near the Russian-Ukrainian border. Russian troops used mortars and tubed artillery to fire on areas in and around Pushkari, Khrinivka and Senkivka in Chernihiv Oblast and Sukhodil, Nova Sloboda and Novovasylivka in Sumy Oblast.

On the Slobozhanshchyna front, Russian forces are conducting hostilities to maintain control over the occupied territories and supply routes in Kharkiv Oblast. They are attempting to find weaknesses in the Ukrainian defence and to improve their tactical positions.

On the Kharkiv front, the Russians used tank guns, as well as tubed and rocket artillery, to fire on areas in and around Udy, Ruski Tyshky, Cherkaski Tyshky, Pytomnyk, Velyki Prokhody, Staryi Saltiv, Petrivka, Peremoha, Dementiivka and Pryshyb. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes on areas in the vicinity of Shestakove, Bairak, Ruski Tyshky and Vesele.

On the Sloviansk front, Russian forces fired on military and civilian infrastructure using tanks, tubed artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) in and around Dolyna, Krasnopillia, Brazhivka and Dibrivne.

Russian forces on the Donetsk front are focusing their main efforts on mounting an offensive on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts. They are attempting to improve their tactical positions and to fire on the positions of Ukrainian forces on the Kramatorsk and Novopavlivka fronts. Moreover, they are attempting to pin down the Ukrainian units in the area and prevent them from being transferred to other fronts.

On the Kramatorsk front, Russian forces used mortars, tank guns, and tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Bohorodychne, Hryhorivka, Donetske, Verkhnokamianske, Ivano-Darivka, Rozdolivka and Vesele and conducted an airstrike near Verkhnokamianske.

On the Bakhmut front, the Russians likewise used mortars, tank guns, and tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Sukha Balka, Yurivka, Bakhmutske, Maiorsk, Zaitseve, Soledar, Bakhmut, Yakovlivka and Bilohorivka. Russian aircraft carried out airstrikes on areas in the vicinity of Zaitseve, Vesela Dolyna, Soledar, Bakhmut and Yakovlivka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled Russian attempts to advance on Bakhmutske and Bakhmut, as well as on Vesela Dolyna and Maiorsk.

On the Avdiivka front, the Russians fired on areas in and around Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Vesele, Opytne, Vodiane, Tonenke, Pervomaiske and Karlivka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled Russian offensive operations near Opytne, Pervomaiske and Nevelske. Moreover, they repelled Russian assaults on Avdiivka and Krasnohorivka.

On the Novopavlivka front, Russian forces fired on Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Mykilske, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, Bohoiavlenka, Novomaiorsk and Neskuchne using mortars, tank guns, tubed artillery and MLRS. They did not undertake offensive operations on this front.

Units of Russian troops did not undertake active offensive operations on the Zaporizhzhia front either.

Russian forces on the Pivdennyi Buh front are focusing their efforts on maintaining and defending their current positions. They used tanks and tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Stepova Dolyna, Oleksandrivka, Posad-Pokrovske, Prybuzke, Novomykolaivka, Liubomyrivka, Novohryhorivka, Kyselivka, Pervomaiske, Kobzartsi, Partyzanske, Chervona Dolyna, Shyroke, Bereznehuvate, Velyke Artakove, Andriivka, Novoselivka, Shevchenkove, Olhyne, Myroliubivka, Liubymivka and Petrivka. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes on areas in and around Lozove, Sukhyi Stavok, Velyke Artakove and Khreshchenivka. The Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled a Russian attempt to conduct an offensive operation on Potomkine.
