Background:

  • On 14 September, the Russian army fired 8 cruise missiles on hydrotechnical structures in Kryvyi Rih, notably the dam of the Karachun Reservoir. They were hit with Kinzhal and Iskander missiles.
  • As a result of missile strikes on Kryvyi Rih, the water level in the Inhulets river has risen, flooding 112 houses and yards. There were water shortages in some localities because the Russians hit the water supply system.
  • The consequences of the Russian missile strike on the dam of the Karachun Reservoir were being dealt with in Kryvyi Rih through the night [on 14-15 September], and in the end, the dam had to be blown up [by the Ukrainian rescue and emergency service workers - ed.] in two areas, resulting in the water level in Inhulets dropping slightly.
  • On the afternoon of September 15, the Russian army again launched a missile strike on the city of Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
  • On the afternoon of 16 September, the invaders for the third time in three days have launched a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih, again aiming at hydrotechnical structures.
