Quote from Vilkul: "A missile strike on Kryvyi Rih. Stay in shelters. Don’t take photos or videos or share them on social media."
Background:
- Late on 14 September, the Russian army launched eight cruise missiles on a hydrotechnical facility in the city of Kryvyi Rih: the Karachunivske Reservoir dam. The invaders used Kinzhal and Iskander missiles.
- Due to the missile strikes on Kryvyi Rih, the water level in the Inhulets River rose rapidly, and 112 houses and yards were flooded. In some settlements, residents reported being cut from the water supply because the Russians had also hit a water pipeline.
- Workers of local utility services spent the entire night dealing with the consequences of the missile strike on the dam; they had to blow it up in two places, which helped reduce the water level in Inhulets.
