Agents of the State Bureau of Investigation detained a Russian soldier whom Russian occupiers "forgot" to take with them during their withdrawal from the Oblast.

Quote: "Agents of State Bureau of Investigation managed to detain a Russian soldier, a resident of the Moscow Oblast, who was hiding near the village of Shevchenkove, Kupiansk district. The Russians forgot to take him with them when they fled the Ukrainian Armed Forces advance."

The detained soldier explained that he went to fight against Ukraine for money. He was promised 4,000 roubles for each day of service. He signed the contract on 6 September, and as soon as 7 September his unit was defeated by Ukrainian troops.

On 13 September, Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated over 300 settlements in Kharkiv Oblast within just a few days of the counteroffensive.

According to intelligence,Russian  occupiers on the Kharkiv front went on the run, trying to reach deeper into temporarily occupied territories following a successful counterattack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Some tried to escape back over the Russian border into the territory of Belgorod Oblast.
