Russian forces use self-propelled artillery systems, mortars and artillery to attack Sumy Oblast

Russian forces fired on the Esman and Shalyhyne hromadas (an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories) in Sumy Oblast on Monday, 12 September.

Details: Russian forces fired 18 shells using tubed artillery and 17 mortar bombs on the Esman hromada.
They fired a further six projectiles using a self-propelled artillery system on the Shalyhyne hromada.
In addition, they used a large-calibre machine gun to fire six long salvos on the Shalyhyne hromada from Russian territory.
"There were no casualties as a result of these attacks on the Shostka district [where the Esman and Shalyhyne hromadas are located - ed.] and no damage [to municipal or private property]."
