Quote from Saldo: "I was not on the air for a while and you didn't see me. In fact, I was under the supervision of very serious doctors in order to improve my health. But questions relating to the organisation of work in Kherson Oblast were always with me…
"Right now, I have the opportunity to work on the regional budget covering the rest of this year and next year. This is a very good sign: this is serious work that will lead to the fact that the Kherson region will be prosperous, stable and steady."
Background: On 5 August, Saldo was hospitalised in occupied Crimea, and doctors put him in a medically induced coma and connected him to an artificial ventilator.
It was reported that Saldo is going to be transferred to a hospital in Moscow, as his condition deteriorated. According to Russian media, doctors suspected that Saldo might have been poisoned. According to other sources, he may have suffered a stroke.
Later, the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation stated that he is allegedly feeling better.
