Quote: "Due to the shelling of infrastructure in Slobozhanshchyna [a region in northeastern Ukraine, which includes parts of Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava and Luhansk oblasts - ed.], a number of trains from/to Kharkiv, Sumy, and Poltava are expected to be delayed.

However, not a single flight today has been cancelled, and traffic continues to run throughout the railway network."

Details: As of 21:00, the following trains are delayed due to power outages:

  • No. 1 Kharkiv — Ivano-Frankivsk; the estimated delay makes 45 minutes;
  • No. 786 Kyiv — Shostka; the estimated delay is 40 minutes (power supply has been restored, the train is moving on).
  • The departure of the following trains may be delayed from Kharkiv-Pasazhyrskyi station: No. 164 Kharkiv — Kyiv (departure time 21:16), No. 7 Kharkiv — Odesa (departure time 21:43).

Ukrzaliznytsia noted that safe disembarkation and boarding of passengers has been organised at the stations in Kharkiv and other cities that are temporarily cut off the electricity supply. Passengers will also be allowed to stay on the territory of these stations during the curfew.

Background: On Sunday evening, it was reported that in various districts of Kharkiv and across Kharkiv Oblast, residents state the lack of electricity supply; blackouts are also reported in Poltava and Sumy Oblasts.

Some cities and hromadas [administrative units designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories] of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast have been left without electricity due to strikes on the energy infrastructure.
