Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry stresses importance of continued arms supplies to Ukraine against the backdrop of the counteroffensive

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasised the importance of continuing the supply of weapons to this country in light of the successes of Ukraine’s counteroffensive.

Background: Sasha Baker, the US Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, called the actions of Ukrainian forces in the south of the country a counteroffensive, speaking at a briefing on 9 September. The term was previously avoided by the Pentagon officials.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated Kupiansk of Kharkiv Oblast from Russian occupiers.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on Friday that Ukrainian forces had achieved some success in their operations in Kharkiv and Kherson, "and so that is very, very encouraging".
