Security Service of Ukraine exposes agitators for Lviv Republic powered by pro-Russian militants from Luhansk Oblast

The Security Service of Ukraine blocked the activities of campaigners who called for the creation of a "Lviv People's Republic" and spread pro-Russian narratives in the Lviv Oblast.

Quote: "The perpetrators tried to spread fake and destructive content as widely as possible through Internet communities – exclusively, of Lviv region. Using fake profiles in social networks and on affiliated websites, the agitators justified the crimes of the Russian Federation, spreading propaganda materials and pro-Russian narratives."

Details: According to the SSU information, the perpetrators were following the instructions of the department of the self-proclaimed LPR (Luhansk People’s Republic) controlled by the Russian special services. The pro-Russian militants remotely hired an IT specialist, who had founded and administered "Lviv People's Republic", an anti-Ukrainian community, and also filled anti-Ukrainian information resources on the request of Russian handlers – in particular, the VoskhodInfo website.

 

He was informed of suspicion under 5 articles:

Part 2 of Art. 109 (actions aimed at the violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or at the seizure of state power);

Part 2 of Art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine);

Part 1 of Art. 111 (high treason);

Art. 436 (war propaganda);

Part 2 of Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The IT specialist faces detention without the right for a bail.

Other perpetrators are being accused in absentia.
