Lukashenko praises Stalin and Beria for nuclear weapons

Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, thanked Joseph Stalin, the former Soviet leader, and Lavrenti Beria, chief of the secret police of the Soviet Union, for nuclear weapons.

Quote: "We exist today, and the crusade hasn’t yet started from there [the West] and gone through Belarus and further to the East, because there was Beria, who was in charge of creating the nuclear weapons.
Nuclear weapons, which I hate and don’t accept, but which, luckily, we do have, or more precisely, Russia has, are weapons of deterrence…
We would long have been butchered and defeated if they had not been scared of nuclear weapons, which is a merit of Stalin and Beria."
