500 teachers from Russia brought to Melitopol, with promise of "free accomodation"
UKRAINSKA PRAVDA – THURSDAY, 1 SEPTEMBER, 12:38
More than 500 teachers from Russia have been brought to occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, promising them "free accomodation" and "high salaries" in the future.
Source: Ivan Fedorov, the Mayor of Melitopol, on air of the national 24/7 newscast
Details: According to Fedorov, Russian occupiers have brought more than 500 teachers from Russia to Melitopol, tempting them with high salaries and the prospect of free accomodation. Every day, teachers will force children to sing the national anthem of the Russian Federation and raise the flag of the aggressor country.
According to Fedorov, the reason for bringing in teachers from the Russian Federation is that Ukrainian teachers refuse to cooperate with the occupying forces.
Quote from Fedorov: "Most of our heroic teachers, school principals and kindergarten directors refused to cooperate with the enemy. Only 10% of the employees of the education department agreed to become collaborators, but mostly they are technical specialists. Not a single principal, [who is an] organiser within the education [process] has agreed to cooperate with the occupier[s]."
Background:
The Russian government has sent a batch of "teachers" to Luhansk Oblast in August, with the intent of russifying Ukrainian children in the occupied territory.
