The head of Luhansk Oblast, Serhii Haidai, has said that there is no water or electricity in occupied Sievierodonetsk and it will be impossible to overwinter in such conditions.
Source: Haidai on Telegram
Quote from Haidai: "There is no electricity or water in Sievierodonetsk. The sewage system is also not working – there are no specialists of the necessary level in the city to restore communications.
Almost all the people who tried to return to the city stayed there for several days, realised that it would be impossible to spend the winter in these conditions, and left again."
Details: According to Haidai, chain stores have also been destroyed in the city, which is why food is imported there from other localities.
Haidai added that the occupation authorities are still trying to create the impression that they are "restoring life". For example, when Russian television crews arrive in Sievierodonetsk, residents begin receiving food packages.
Background:
- In March, it became known that as a result of enemy shelling, several settlements in the Luhansk Oblast have been left without electricity, gas, heating and water.
- Due to the lack of heating, Ukraine announced a mandatory evacuation from Donetsk Oblast.
- Prior to that, Haidai said that the authorities can't yet evacuate people from Luhansk Oblast; it is only possible for them to leave on their own.
