Russian troops fired over 130 projectiles on Sumy Oblast on 8 August. A woman was killed by artillery shelling in the village of Katerynivka.

Quote: "Over the past 24 hours, the Russians have opened fire on the hromadas (amalgamated territorial communities) of Myropillia, Seredyna-Buda, Khotin, Krasnopillia, Shalyhyne, Hlukhiv, Esman and Velyka Pysarivka. In total, over 130 projectiles were fired from mortars and tubed and rocket artillery. They also used small arms.
I regret to inform you of one loss. [The Russian troops] opened artillery fire on the outskirts of settlements in Shalyhyne hromada at 11:20. A local resident died in the village of Katerynivka from a shrapnel wound in the neck."
