 Russia maintains troops in Bryansk and Kursk oblasts and is reinforcing air defence systems – General Staff report

Russia is continuing to maintain units of the Western Military District troops in Bryansk and Kursk oblasts (Russia), in the areas near the state border with Ukraine.

Details: On the Kharkiv front, Russian forces shelled Ukrainian positions in the contact zone using tubed and rocket artillery. They also fired on civilian infrastructure in and around Zolochiv, Prudianka, Dementiivka, Pytomnyk, Ruska Lozova, Ruski Tyshky and Cherkaski Tyshky, Kutuzivka, Staryi Saltiv, Chuhuiv and Asiivka. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes near Husarivka and Verjhnii Saltiv. The Russians also used UAVs to conduct extensive aerial reconnaissance in the area.

On the Sloviansk front, Russian forces fired on the areas around Velyka Komyshuvakha, Virnopillia, Sulyhivka, Ridne, Dibrivne, Hrushuvakha, Bohorodychne, Nortsivka and Dolyna, and conducted an airstrike near Zalyman.

On the Kramatorsk front, Russian troops used tank guns, as well as tubed and rocket artillery, to fire on the areas in the vicinity of Kramatorsk, Siversk, Serebrianka, Hryhorivka and Spirne. Russian aircraft carried out airstrikes near Hryhorivka and Ivano-Darivka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces inflicted losses on the group of Russian troops that attempted to advance on Verkhnokamianske and forced the Russians to retreat.

On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces fired on the areas around Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Soledar, Zaitseve, Yakovlivka, Bilohorivka and Bakhmutske and conducted airstrikes near Bakhmut, Yakovlivka and Zaitseve. Russian forces continue to undertake reconnaissance operations without much regard for the personnel losses they suffer in the process. The Ukrainian Armed Forces neutralised Russian reconnaissance groups near Bakhmutske, Bakhmut and Yakovlivka. Russian forces attempted to conduct assault operations in the vicinity of Bakhmut, Zaitseve, Yakovlivka and Vershyna but were unsuccessful and retreated.

On the Avdiivka front, Russian forces shelled the areas near Avdiivka, Pisky, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka and Kurakhove using artillery and conducted airstrikes near Niu-York, Krasnohorivka, Marinka and Yurivka. The Russians attempted to advance on Pisky, Nevelske and Avdiivka but were unsuccessful and were forced to retreat.

On the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts, Russian forces continued to fire on military and civilian infrastructure in and around Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka, Shevchenko, Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Vremivka, Novosilka, Bilohiria, Stepove and Poltavka, and carried out airstrikes near Novomykhailivka, Prechystivka, Volodymyrivka and Novosilka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled Russian attempts to advance on Marinka and Shevchenko, pushing the Russians back.

The Russian forces’ main efforts on the Pivdennyi Buh front are focused on maintaining their current positions and preventing the Ukrainian Armed Forces from advancing in the area. The Russians are using UAVs to conduct extensive aerial reconnaissance and are using tubed and rocket artillery, as well as tank guns, to fire on Ukrainian positions in the contact zone. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes near Olhyne, Novohryhorivka and Andriivka.

There is a threat of missile strikes from the Black Sea.
