Second convoy of Ukrainian food supplies leaves the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk

On Sunday, 7 August, the second convoy of Ukrainian food supplies left the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk, consisting of three ships from Chornomorsk and one from Odesa, the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure reports.
The four bulk carriers Mustafa Necati, Star Helena, Glory and Riva Wind are carrying almost 170,000 tonnes of agricultural produce.
"Since the ports processed the first convoy, we’ve been gradually moving on to larger volumes. We plan to ensure that ports are able to handle at least 100 ships per month in the near future.
We also plan to join the ‘Southern’ port initiative soon. We expect that this will enable us to send even larger convoys of ships to buyers, of at least up to three million tonnes per month," said Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Infrastructure.
The ships are heading to ports in Italy, China and Turkey.
The Ministry adds that in implementation of agreements, four ships carrying Ukrainian corn have already been dispatched, namely the Razoni, Navi Star, Rojen and Polarnet. They are transporting over 80,000 tonnes of corn.
Reminder:
For the first time since the start of the full-scale invasion by Russia on 24 February, a ship arrived for loading in Ukraine on Saturday evening – the bulk carrier Fulmars.
On 2 August, the Turkish Ministry of Defence confirmed that the Razoni had arrived carrying Ukrainian grain – the first ship to depart under the "grain agreement" between Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and Russia. On 3 August, the inspection of the first ship with Ukrainian grain was completed in Turkey. The ship passed the Bosphorus and headed for the Sea of Marmara.
